Compilation “Strāvoklis” with various artists performing songs based on poems by the Latvian poet Rainis will be released in the beginning of May 2011.

The compilation release event will be held from 19:00-21:00 on May 4, The Day of Declaration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia,  in Esplanade, Riga, at the Rainis monument. The project is organized by Andris Indāns (Gas of Latvia).

The artists performing at the event include “STandART”, “Ēnu kaleidoskops”, “Hospitāļu iela”, “Bērnības milicija”, “Inokentijs Mārpls”,  “Gaujarts”, “Gas of Latvia”, “Soundarcade”, “Nepilngadīgā Anna”, “Židrūns”, Imants Daksis and Jēkabs Nīmanis. A special stage design is being prepared by the visual artist Katrīna Neiburga.

It is worth mentioning that the first public STandART concert in May 2003 in Jelgava was also held in a park named after Rainis. Previously STandART had performed only at semi-private events.

STandART will support “VNV Nation” at club Tapper, Tallinn, Estonia on April 16 along with the Estonian band “Forgotten Sunrise”. Tickets: from 17 EUR. A special support bus Riga-Tallinn-Riga is organized.

As you might know, “Autumn News” is originally written in collaboration with the Polish musician Hien and STandART performed the track together with the Latvian singer-songwriter Goran Gora at the BILDES 2010 festival. Thanks to your warm response, we decided to record the new version with additional vocals by Goran and Kalvis in the studio as well. Now it is available as a free download HERE.
